International Women’s Day – March 2023

Group shot for Fighting To Be Heard charity event

Global womenswear brand, Forever Unique partnered with our Fighting To Be Heard Charity to celebrate International Women’s Day to help raise awareness for incurable Secondary Breast Cancer. Owned by Seema Malhotra, star of the Real Housewives of Cheshire, the cause is extremely close to her heart and is something she felt compelled to support after meeting the women two years ago.

The narrative behind the campaign is to shine the light on the plight of women diagnosed with Secondary Breast Cancer and how this disease claims thousands of lives each year; secondary breast cancer is often described as the ‘forgotten form’ of breast cancer, even though it is estimated in a recent audit by Macmillan that there are over 57,000 people living with metastatic (secondary) breast cancer in the UK. At the heart of the initial campaign were 20 women, and in just 12 months, 5 ladies passed.

The 15 ladies and new advocates of the Foundation, all currently living with Secondary Breast cancer, are united through friendship, strength, and a mission to raise awareness of a stage of cancer seldom discussed.

The Forever Unique x Fighting To Be Heard collaboration celebrates female empowerment, body confidence and the importance of living in the moment whilst raising money and awareness for an important cause. Forever Unique will tease the campaign in the lead-up to International Women’s Day on the 8th of March, sharing the stories of these women, educating their followers and urging people to donate.

Seema said of the campaign, “ I’m honoured to support the Fighting To Be Heard Foundation, I have grown to know each of these women personally, and I admire every single one of them and their incredible stories. It was important to us that the women had fun and felt a million dollars. The strength and positivity they show day to day are truly remarkable. This shoot represents everything we stand for as a brand, and as proud females, I am so grateful to share this campaign with them. I am so glad that we are able to use our platform to raise awareness and give these women an even bigger voice.” The purpose-driven campaign was shot in Studio Manchester, with understated styling and simple backdrops with The Fighting To Be Heard advocates at the centre of the shoot. Each woman wore simple but chic black Forever Unique outfits with beautiful silhouettes to flatter all shapes. Behind the scenes, Forever Unique captured beautiful personal moments, which included the ladies answering questions on their biggest female role models and their incredible, inspiring journeys.

Fighting To Be Heard Founder Kathryn added, “We are so grateful to partner with Forever Unique, thanks to my dear friend Seema. Her support is unwavering, and using her platform to raise awareness is amazing. As a newly formed foundation, this opportunity is truly unique. It will enable us to gain generous support from people and businesses and raise awareness of Secondary Breast Cancer far and wide. I’m so proud of all the women who took part in the shoot; they look amazing and are the epitome of a woman’s strength”.
